Employment type
Full-time/Part-time
Salary
≈€85,000 gross/year

Would you like not only to design Azure architecture, but also implement it yourself on the platform?

We are looking for an Azure Cloud Engineer (m/f/d) for a medium-sized company to further develop its existing Microsoft and cloud landscape. The role focuses on Azure Cloud Engineering and hands-on architecture.

Several new projects are taking shape as new digital products and applications are developed. This makes a robust Azure architecture, security and operational reliability increasingly important.

You assess technical requirements, develop suitable Azure solutions and implement them yourself. The role therefore combines architectural responsibility with practical work on the platform.

Your responsibilities

  • You further develop the Azure infrastructure and its architecture.
  • You assess new project requirements and design suitable Azure solutions.
  • You implement cloud solutions yourself on the platform.
  • You shape Azure Networking, Security, Identity and Governance.
  • You integrate Azure Services and operate cloud applications.
  • You support the migration of existing systems and servers to Azure.
  • You automate infrastructure and operational processes.
  • You work on containerisation, Kubernetes or AKS, APIs and pipelines.
  • You support the development and operation of new cloud applications, including those with enhanced security requirements.
  • You contribute to Microsoft 365 topics such as Entra ID, Conditional Access, Defender, Intune, Teams and Exchange Online.

What you bring

What you should have:

  • Practical experience with production Azure infrastructures
  • Engineering and architectural responsibility at Azure level
  • Experience designing and implementing Azure solutions yourself
  • Confidence in the Microsoft ecosystem and exposure to Microsoft 365
  • Experience with Azure Networking

Experience with the following is a plus:

  • Azure Security and Identity & Access Management
  • Azure Compute and Storage
  • Azure Governance
  • Azure Monitoring
  • Cloud migration
  • Containerisation and Kubernetes or AKS
  • Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or Bicep
  • PowerShell and automation
  • Azure DevOps and CI/CD

You do not need to cover every single topic; what matters is your practical engineering and architectural responsibility at Azure level.

What makes this role interesting

The Azure landscape is currently being expanded, and many technical decisions are still to be made. You can therefore help shape how the infrastructure is built, secured and operated in the future.

New digital products and applications are making cloud infrastructure an increasingly important part of the core business. In time, machine learning services and data-driven applications may also be added.

How you work

You work with the existing technical team and also liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers. The medium-sized business is still partly being built up; your own ideas and pragmatic solutions are welcome.

You take independent responsibility and share your knowledge with the team. In this role, architectural thinking goes hand in hand with practical implementation.
