Would you like to operate Linux systems and work hands-on with data centre infrastructure?

We are looking for a System Administrator / Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d) in Hanover for a company in the IT software solutions sector. The role combines system administration with data centre operations and focuses on Linux and Unix systems, monitoring and troubleshooting.

You will work in systems operations and liaise closely with colleagues in Hanover and Bad Homburg. You will spend most of your working day in the office in Hanover and some of it in a customer’s data centre; working from home is possible in exceptional cases.

The focus is on practical infrastructure work in operations and projects. You will also look after security-critical IT systems.

Your responsibilities

  • You install and commission server and client systems.
  • You operate data centre infrastructure and look after customer systems.
  • You monitor systems, analyse faults and carry out troubleshooting.
  • You handle 2nd-line support requests.
  • You maintain and develop the infrastructure.
  • You contribute to projects and system upgrades.
  • You work with manufacturers and international teams.

What you bring

What you should have:

  • Professional experience in system administration or infrastructure engineering
  • Practical experience in Linux or Unix administration
  • Experience in data centre operations
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Fault analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • Fluent German
  • Basic English

  • Storage infrastructure
  • Networking expertise
  • Databases
  • Security-critical infrastructure
